About
This secluded, rustic campground sits on the shore of Culhane Lake. This 97-acre lake provides excellent opportunities for pike and walleye fishing. There is a boat launch adjacent to the campground, about 200 feet past the campground entrance off County Road 500. Culhane Lake also provides an opportunity for paddle sports and wildlife viewing. The national North Country Trail runs directly through the campground and is a great trail to explore for the day as it travels throughout northern Luce County. Another nearby hiking opportunity is the Bodi Lake Pathway, which begins and ends within Bodi Lake state forest campground.
There are 15 sites for tent and small trailer use. The campground is located 29 miles northeast of Newberry via M-123 and County Road 500.
15 rustic campsites, $20 a night. Closed November 30 to May 1. First come, first served; register at the campground kiosk on the day you arrive. Vault toilets and a hand-pump well for drinking water; no electricity or hookups. One camping unit and six people per site, 15 nights at most. Managed from Tahquamenon Falls State Park (906-492-3415).
