About

Savage Highlands State Park, one of Maryland's newest state parks, sits over 2,500 ft up on Big Savage Mountain near Frostburg in Garrett County, within the westernmost reaches of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Camping here is a single hike-in rustic campsite (reached via the Cabin Loop or Woodcock Loop trail) - a genuinely minimal individual-camping offering, not a group site. Yurts and a cabin/house are also bookable here but are separate lodging, not included in the campsite total above. Shares an administrative "Headquarters Lane" address with the Savage River State Forest complex. Reservable through the Maryland Park Service's own ReserveAmerica/Aspira contract, hosted at parkreservations.maryland.gov (not a reserveamerica.com subdomain, though it runs the same underlying platform - confirmed live, "Powered by Aspira").

Fees

Campsite Non-Electric $19.50-$20.50/night. Displayed rates are the vendor's own published BASE rates and do NOT reflect holiday/weekend/residency surcharges or a pet fee (Maryland applies these as add-ons rather than publishing a separate resident/non-resident base rate the way some other states do).
