About
Big Run State Park, a small park on the Savage River Reservoir within Savage River State Forest in far western Maryland, offers 23 primitive family campsites (wooded sites 63-75, open-field sites 78-90) plus two separately-bookable group campsites: Monroe Run (up to 25 people, its shelter has electricity - the individual campsites themselves do not) and Creekside (up to 12 people). No showers or dump station confirmed on the park's own page - a genuinely primitive campground. Reservable through the Maryland Park Service's own ReserveAmerica/Aspira contract, hosted at parkreservations.maryland.gov (not a reserveamerica.com subdomain, though it runs the same underlying platform - confirmed live, "Powered by Aspira").
Fees
Campsite Non-Electric $11.00-$12.00/night; Group (Monroe Run/Creekside group campsites) $21.00-$56.50/night. Displayed rates are the vendor's own published BASE rates and do NOT reflect holiday/weekend/residency surcharges or a pet fee (Maryland applies these as add-ons rather than publishing a separate resident/non-resident base rate the way some other states do). Pets are allowed, but must be kept on a leash at all times.
