About
Bear Creek Lake sits inside the vast Cumberland State Forest, less than an hour west of Richmond. Three campground loops surround the 40-acre lake, with options ranging from tent-only waterview sites to RV sites with electric and water hookups; several cabins, a lodge, and a bunkhouse are also on site, not counted in the total above. Swim at the sandy beach, rent a boat, fish from the pier, or head out onto 14 miles of multi-use trail shared with the adjoining state forest.
