About
An International Dark Sky Park in the Blue Ridge foothills, James River State Park stretches along three miles of the James River with hiking and biking trails, boat launches, and a hillside amphitheater. Campers can choose full hookup sites, primitive riverside tent sites, a primitive group site, or an equestrian campground with covered horse stalls; cabins and lodges are also available (not counted in the total above). Stargazing programs run through the warmer months.
