About

Nestled on a forested bluff along Twin Lake, this rustic campground offers 11 sites for tent and small trailer use. Hiking and mountain biking opportunities are located nearby at the Black Mountain Pathway.

The campground is located 6 miles southeast of Alverno via Smith and Twin Lakes roads.

11 rustic campsites, $20 a night. Closed October 1 to May 1. First come, first served; register at the campground kiosk on the day you arrive. Vault toilets and a hand-pump well for drinking water; no electricity or hookups. One camping unit and six people per site, 15 nights at most. Managed from Cheboygan State Park (231-627-2811).
