About
Travelling to the end of the road you’ll find Big Whiteshell Lake, a picturesque setting to outdoor adventure in the heart of Whiteshell Provincial Park. Walk around the edge of Big Whiteshell's popular recreation areas to see some magnificent views of wildlife or take the epic trek on the three-to-six-day hike on the Mantario Trail. The lake is well loved by anglers for Walleye, Northern Pike, Whitefish and Smallmouth Bass. The campground is near modern conveniences like stores, a gas station, and a large boat launch and dock and a public beach with a playground.
Elsewhere in the park: biking, boating, canoeing, church, convenience store (Whiteshell Resort), firewood (available for purchase at Whiteshell Resort), fishing, gas station (Whiteshell Resort), golf - 18 holes & mini golf, laundry (White Lake Resort), and restaurant.
In the campground: boat launch, dump station, hiking, horseback, interpretive programs (amphitheatre), kiosk, modern washrooms, pay showers, picnic areas, picnic shelter, pit privies, playground, swimming, tennis, and water taps.
Includes 112 sites leased for the whole season.
Directions: From Winnipeg: travel east on P.T.H. 15, north on P.T.H. 11, east on P.T.H. 44 to Rennie Gate. Travel north on P.R. 307 to P.R. 309 and then north to South Shore Big Whiteshell. Approximately 160 kilometres from Winnipeg.
