About

City of Newport's campground on the shore of Lake Memphremagog, on a peninsula beside Prouty Beach with views across the water to downtown Newport. The city says 'over 75 campsites'; its 2025 map numbers 76 RV sites and 13 tent sites, and the 2026 rate sheet also sells overflow sites, a forest tent site and a lean-to that the map does not number. RV and Prime sites have 30/50-amp electric, water and sewer; the map also shows a dump station. Tent sites are primitive, and the forest tent site sits on the Newport Recreational Bike Path, which runs 7 miles to the Canadian border. One furnished beachfront cabin (C1) sleeps four with a full bed, bunk beds, refrigerator, microwave and electricity but no water; bring linens and towels. Hot showers, restrooms, washers and dryers, free Wi-Fi, a campground store, docks and a swimming area, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, disc golf, playground, tennis and basketball courts, and boat and bicycle rentals. Leashed pets are welcome with proof of vaccination for dogs and cats. RV sites are booked online; primitive tent sites by phone or email. Open April 24 to October 12 in 2026; the off-season office number is 802-334-6345.

2026: RV sites $49/night, $270/week or $935/month for Newport residents, $54/night, $300/week or $1,045/month for nonresidents; Prime and XL pull-through sites $57/night or $325/week; waterfront sites $75/night or $425/week; tent sites $36/night or $200/week; forest tent site $25/night or $125/week; overflow sites $33/night, or $36 with utilities; lean-to $45/night or $300/week.
