About
The largest of the three named camping areas inside Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden, a 400-acre garden set against the Koʻolau range and the only city campsites not on a beach - 15 tent campsites (numbered 17-31), each with a fire ring, plus a restroom building, on 3-day permits (Friday 9am to Monday 4pm). A large-group campsite is booked directly with the garden (808-233-7323) at least 30 days ahead and up to six months out. Driving to the campsites is not permitted; campers check in at the visitor center, the main gate locks at 4pm, and permit-holders are let in 5:30-6:30pm and out 9-9:15pm. Max 10 people, 3 tents and 3 vehicles per permit (overnight parking permit from the visitor center). No alcohol, generators or amplified music; all city campgrounds close Wednesday and Thursday; tents only, no pets.
Fees
$10 per day plus a $2 admin fee and 2.35% card fee - $32.75 for the 3-day Friday-Monday permit.
