About

One of three named camping areas inside Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden, a 400-acre garden set against the Koʻolau range and the only city campsites not on a beach - 8 tent campsites among plants from India and Sri Lanka, each with a fire ring, plus two restroom buildings, on 3-day permits (Friday 9am to Monday 4pm). Campers check in at the visitor center; the main gate locks at 4pm, permit-holders are let in 5:30-6:30pm and out 9-9:15pm, and vehicles stay on paved roads and lots. Max 10 people, 3 tents and 3 vehicles per permit (overnight parking permit from the visitor center). No alcohol, generators or amplified music; all city campgrounds close Wednesday and Thursday; tents only, no pets.

Fees

$10 per day plus a $2 admin fee and 2.35% card fee - $32.75 for the 3-day Friday-Monday permit.
