Hike Description

Start at the Bubbles Divide Trailhead.

The trail ascends quickly with steps leading up. At the junction, turn left towards South Bubble and Bubbles Divide Trail. This moderate out and back spur is .6 miles round trip to reach the summit of South Bubble and Bubble Rock.

Return the way you came and from the signpost continue to North Bubble. The trail becomes steep with open granite ledges and is slick in wet weather.

Reach the summit of North Bubble and enjoy views of Eagle Lake and the northern portion of the island before descending into the forest.

Stay on the Bubbles Trail as it crosses the carriage road.

Ascend for .1 miles to Conners Nubble for another view of Eagle Lake. Retrace your steps back on the carriage road.

Turn left onto the carriage road and continue for .6 miles.

Look for a path and small wooden footbridge. When Jordan Pond Carry trail intersects the carriage road, turn right onto it. Portions of the trail have wooden planks to avoid wet sections.

The trail gently rises until it reaches the junction with the Bubbles Divide Trail. Turn left and return to the parking lot.

Accessibility The Bubbles Nubble Loop is not accessible. The trails have uneven footing, stairs, and short, steep sections. There are no accessible restrooms at the trailhead.

About this trail's facts

The lines are the National Park Service's public trails layer, the trailheads and the waterfalls, views, peaks and historic places along them the Service's public points of interest, read 2026-10-16 and simplified for the map; the length is the line's, end to end. The write-ups are the Service's own "things to do" text, unedited. Heights come from USGS 3DEP through Terrain Tiles on AWS (Mapzen/Tilezen), read along each line and rounded; a short trail on steep ground can be off by a few tens of feet. Closures change: check the park's own site before you go.
