Closed: Recreation Sites and Trails BC lists this site as closed (Binta Lake Recreation Site remains closed until further notice due to significant danger tree risk. The Province is working with Stellat'en Duchun Forestry to address the risk. A plan is in place. The next step is securing funding, which is in progress. The site will remain closed for the 2026 summer season. Please visit nearby recreation sites: Uncha, Binta North, and Indian Bay. A beautiful site at the southern end of Binta Lake nestled in a mature Spruce forest. This 7-unit campground offers a boat launch, gravelly beach, grassy areas, and views down the lake. There are several fish species in the lake.

Road access. Maintained to Recreation Sites and Trails BC standards by a partner or contractor. Facilities on file: boat launch, toilets, picnic tables, fire rings. First come, first served.
Getting there: From Hwy 16 in Burns Lake, follow Hwy 35 south and take the ferry across Francois Lake (be sure to check schedules for Francois Lake ferry). Arrive in Southbank and take the first left off Keefes Landing Road onto Uncha Lake Road. Follow Uncha Lake Road for 11.8 km. Turn right onto the Campbell road for 4.7 km, turn left onto Binta Road. Follow Binta Road east for ~10.4 km. At the 4-way junction, travel south for 22.0 km on the Binta South FSR, turning left onto Mooney Road when you reach it. Proceed ~0.8 km along the Mooney to reach the site.
