About
Swartswood State Park surrounds Swartswood Lake, New Jersey's first state park, near Newton. The campground offers wooded and grassy sites of varying size within walking distance of the lake and a boat launch (a specific total site count is not published by the park), plus 3 group sites near Duck Pond (minimum 7, maximum 20 people) and 6 rustic shelters on a ridge above the campground, none with hookups or electrical outlets. Restrooms and showers are available. Open April 1 through Oct. 31 (shelters through Dec. 15). Alcohol and pets are not permitted in overnight facilities.
