About
This secluded, rustic campground offers 35 sites for tents and small trailers. Located within the Gladwin Field Trail Area and near House and Hoister lakes (Trout Lake has receded due to an emergency drawdown), the campground is split into three small loops. Visitors can enjoy excellent fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities, with direct access to the scenic 2.8-mile Trout Lake Pathway. The campground is a neighbor to the House Lake State Forest Campground, and site 19 is a pull-through.
The campground is located 17 miles north of Gladwin via M-18 N and Adams Road.
35 rustic campsites, $20 a night. Open all year; the road may not be plowed in winter. First come, first served; register at the campground kiosk on the day you arrive. Vault toilets and a hand-pump well for drinking water; no electricity or hookups. One camping unit and six people per site, 15 nights at most. Managed from Wilson State Park (989-386-4067).
