About
This rustic trail camp offers group camping on the shores of Lake Dubonnet, nestled among towering pines. Designed primarily for equestrian campers on the Shore-to-Shore Trail, this camp welcomes groups of up to 200 people with tents and trailers. The 420-mile Shore-to-Shore Trail, open for hiking and horseback riding, stretches east-west from Empire to Oscoda with two additional northern and southern spur trails. Amenities include a submersible pump requiring a 5,000-watt generator.

The campground is conveniently located near the Lake Dubonnet State Forest Campground, approximately 5 miles northwest of Interlochen (via M-137, US-31, Gonder Road, and Lake Dubonnet Trail).
This campground is maintained with the help of the Michigan Trail Riders Association.
A group camp (equestrian - group); group rates apply. Open all year; the road may not be plowed in winter. First come, first served; register at the campground kiosk on the day you arrive. Vault toilets and a hand-pump well for drinking water; no electricity or hookups. One camping unit and six people per site, 15 nights at most. Managed from Interlochen State Park (231-276-9511).
