About
Assateague State Park, Maryland's only oceanfront park, sits on the northern end of Assateague Island between the Atlantic Ocean and Sinepuxent Bay - a separate Maryland Park Service campground roughly 17 km north of, and NOT the same place as, the National Park Service's Assateague Island National Seashore campground further south on the same island. 342 campsites plus 3 separate youth group sites; electric hookups exist in the G and I loops specifically (exact per-site count not published). Home to Assateague's famous wild ponies, plus sika deer and abundant birdlife. Reservable through the Maryland Park Service's own ReserveAmerica/Aspira contract, hosted at parkreservations.maryland.gov (not a reserveamerica.com subdomain, though it runs the same underlying platform - confirmed live, "Powered by Aspira").
Fees
Campsite Non-Electric $28.50-$29.50/night, Campsite Electric $38.50-$39.50/night. Displayed rates are the vendor's own published BASE rates and do NOT reflect holiday/weekend/residency surcharges or a pet fee (Maryland applies these as add-ons rather than publishing a separate resident/non-resident base rate the way some other states do). Pets allowed with registered campers in camp loops G, H, and I and adjoining beaches only (leashed at all times unless actively swimming) - not park-wide.
