About
Primitive campground behind the fire tower north of the forest office: 19 sites, each with a picnic table and grill; vault toilets and seasonal drinking water (water is shut off at all campgrounds October 31 and turned on in March as weather permits; a year-round hydrant is southeast of the main office). A dump station is beside the campground.
Open year-round. Campers register at the forest office (6220 Forest Rd, Martinsville). On busy weekends overflow camping opens at Oak Ridge Campground.
Note (September 2026): the forest is open after the June 18, 2026 tornado, with temporary weekday road closures during clean-up.
In Morgan-Monroe State Forest.
Fees
$12.15 per night (the DNR's first-come state forest rate; taxes not included), paid at the self-registration station or the forest office
