About
City of Valdez campground at the foot of Valdez Glacier, run by Fort Greely Army Family and MWR and open to civilians as well as military guests. 81 standard tent sites and 8 non-electric RV pads are first-come, first-served; 13 electric RV pads (20/30 and 50 amp) and two large group camping areas (up to 8 tents each, one with a covered pavilion) require reservations. Picnic tables and fire rings at every site, bath house with hot showers, potable water, dump station, nature trail and a camp host during business hours. Four dry cabins are reserved for military, DoD and Fort Greely contractor guests. Leashed pets welcome. Closes for the season September 9.
Fees
Civilian rates: tent site $30/night; non-electric RV pad $35; electric RV pad $45 (20/30 amp) or $50 (50 amp); group area $75. Military rates $5 less. Non-guest dump station $10, showers/water $5.
