Los Alamos County mountain campground up Camp May Road above town, near the ski hill. 10 sites for tents or RVs, with picnic tables, shade structures and fire pits, and no hookups. Restrooms. The season runs from about April or May, weather depending, to October; the road is normally blocked from November to March. Construction has recently restricted it to Friday noon through Sunday noon with no reservations taken, so check with the county before setting off.
