Fort Getty Campground

Town of Jamestown's 41-acre park at the end of Fort Getty Road on the west shore of Conanicut Island, with old fortifications, a rocky beach, a public boat ramp and dock, the Kit Wright walking trail along Fox Hill Marsh, and views of the Jamestown Bridge across the West Passage. 75 seasonal RV sites and 26 tent sites. Tent sites are booked online by the night, with flat three- or four-night rates on the Fourth of July, Labor Day and Newport Folk and Jazz festival weekends. RV sites are assigned from waitlists: seasonal sites go first to returning campers, then to the seasonal waitlist in order of Jamestown residency and sign-up date; any left are filled from the transient waitlist (two-week minimum stay), ranked by residency, length of stay and sign-up date. Tent site $40 per night; flat rate $150 for the three-night Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends and $250 for the four-night Newport Folk and Jazz festival weekends (single nights not sold on those weekends). Seasonal and transient RV rates are not published; RV waitlist $25 per year. Public dump station use $25. Parking $20 per day, $30 with a boat, or $125 for a nonresident seasonal pass.
