City of Cañon City campground 20 minutes west of town in Royal Gorge Park, with 23 sites (no electrical hookups or potable water; fire pit and picnic table at each). Two vault toilet facilities. Open year-round. Online reservations via the city's CivicRec system April 1-October 31 (in-person also accepted in that window); November-March is walk-in first-come, first-served only. Access to 22 miles of surrounding trails, including the Royal Cascade Trail.
