Breezy Point Beach and Campground

Calvert County's campground on the Chesapeake Bay about an hour from Washington, with a half mile of sandy beach, a netted swimming area, a 200-foot fishing and crabbing pier, playground, and shaded picnic areas. 82 sites: 61 short-term sites and 21 seasonal sites filled by lottery each winter. Every site has water and 20, 30, and 50-amp electric; there are no sewer connections and no dump station, but a septic pump-out can be ordered for $55. Sites 1-17 are on the water. Restrooms and outdoor showers. Up to six campers, one RV or trailer, and two tents per site; 14-day maximum stay, two-night minimum on weekends and three on holiday weekends. Reservations open online in mid-February. No pets (service animals permitted), no alcohol, no boats or trailers in the park. Open May 1 to October 31.

Monday to Thursday $60 per night for county residents, $70 for others; Friday to Sunday and holidays $70 and $80. Waterfront sites 1-17 are $10 more. Rates include four campers; $5 per extra camper. Seasonal sites $4,300 to $5,000 for the season. $20 key deposit; septic pump-out $55.
