About

Anne Arundel County's paddle-in primitive campsite in the Emory Waters Nature Preserve at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, reached only by canoe or kayak. Two adjacent sites at river mile 41 on the downstream left bank, marked by a brown sign with a tent symbol and a short orange-blazed trail up from the water. Each site has a 12-by-12-foot tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring with a cooking grate; one portable toilet serves both. No drinking water and no trash cans - pack everything out. Up to six people per site, two nights maximum. Mud flats front the site, so except near high tide approach from the south along the river's east shore. No pets anywhere in the sanctuary. Do not bring firewood.
