Old Skyline - Lost Lake Trailhead the Forest Service's write-up

The trailhead is on the 1340 Forest Road at the south end of Lost Lake Campground . There is room for 5 cars and there are toilets within 100 yards. The campground is to the north. The Old Skyline Trail is a slightly more difficult trail, Its is 2.5 miles long and It connects the Lake Branch of the Cascades trail on the north side of the lake, with Jones Creek Road on the South side.

Restrictions **Lost Lake is currently limiting parking capacity within the campground and resort area to 50%. Friday-Monday, a road barricade is staffed 4 miles below the entrance to the resort. Once parking capacity has reached 50% vehicles will be turned around at that location. This is the result of parking congestion along the roadways accessing the campground and resort. The congestion has made it difficult for emergency personnel to access the site.**

About this trail's facts

The lines are the US Forest Service's National Forest System trails layer (public domain), read 2026-10-16 and simplified for the map; the length is the line's, end to end, and the class, surface, grade and tread width are the forest's own entries where it publishes them - a forest that publishes the centreline alone has none. The trailheads and the points along the way are the Service's recreation points, and the write-ups its own recarea text, unedited. Heights come from USGS 3DEP through Terrain Tiles on AWS (Mapzen/Tilezen), read along each line and rounded; a short trail on steep ground can be off by a few tens of feet. Closures change: check the forest's own site before you go.
