About
West Virginia's newest state park (added in 2022), Summersville Lake State Park sits on the shore of the state's largest lake, known for scuba diving, rock climbing, and boating. Two campgrounds offer 47 full-hookup RV sites (Overlook and Deer Run) and a separate walk-in tents-only area with 26 primitive sites (Joe Branch); an overnight parking permit for campervans and SUVs is also available outside the numbered sites listed above.
Fees
Nightly site fees at this campground currently range from $42.00 to $84.00, per the state park reservation system (book.wvstateparks.com); the exact price depends on site type and loop. Dogs and cats are allowed in West Virginia State Parks and Forests campgrounds on a leash and must be kept restrained, per the statewide rules and regulations (wvstateparks.com/rules-and-regulations); no per-pet fee is stated. Reservations canceled 60 or more days before arrival may receive a deposit refund; cancellations made 7-60 days before arrival receive a credit toward a future stay; cancellations within 7 days of arrival are not refundable.
