About

Blackwater Falls State Park is built around its namesake 62-foot waterfall and the deep, amber-tinted Blackwater Canyon, with sledding, cross-country skiing, and year-round hiking trails. The campground has 55 electric sites and a bathhouse that closes for the winter (portable toilets only, November 1 - May 1); a lodge and cabins are also on site, not counted in the total above. The campground operates April 28 through October 31.

Fees

Nightly site fees at this campground are currently $49.99 per the state park reservation system (book.wvstateparks.com). Dogs and cats are allowed in West Virginia State Parks and Forests campgrounds on a leash and must be kept restrained, per the statewide rules and regulations (wvstateparks.com/rules-and-regulations); no per-pet fee is stated. Reservations canceled 60 or more days before arrival may receive a deposit refund; cancellations made 7-60 days before arrival receive a credit toward a future stay; cancellations within 7 days of arrival are not refundable. Check-in is 1 p.m., check-out is noon.
