About
Wildcat Mountain State Park overlooks the winding Kickapoo River valley from sandstone bluffs near Ontario, a popular put-in for canoe and kayak trips. Camping options include a family campground with showers and a dump station (no electric hookups; DNR's own page does not publish its site count), 20 non-electric cart-in sites, a 24-site horse campground with corrals and hitching posts, and three group sites. Horse campers should approach via Taylor Valley Road rather than the steep main park entrance.
Fees
Wisconsin DNR statewide camping system: a vehicle admission sticker is required at every state park or forest entrance, including for registered campers - $28/year for Wisconsin residents ($13/year age 65+) or $50/year for non-residents, or $13/day resident / $16/day non-resident. Nightly campsite rates vary by electricity, amenities, location, site type, day of week and season, and are shown when you select a specific site during booking; non-resident campers pay a flat $15/night surcharge on top of the site's own rate. A $9.30 reservation fee applies per booking, plus a $10 cancellation fee or $6 change fee if plans change. Pets are allowed at this campground on a leash no longer than 8 feet at all times, per Wisconsin State Park System's statewide pet policy; owners must clean up and properly dispose of pet waste.
