About
Menominee River State Recreation Area follows several miles of the Menominee River along the Michigan border, known for whitewater paddling through Piers Gorge. Four canoe-in primitive campsites - Stoney Hill, Grand Isle, Pemebonwon, and Pemene Falls - each hold up to six campers with a fire ring and cleared tent spot; there's no vehicle access, no potable water, and only a primitive latrine at each site.
Fees
Wisconsin DNR statewide camping system: a vehicle admission sticker is required at every state park or forest entrance, including for registered campers - $28/year for Wisconsin residents ($13/year age 65+) or $50/year for non-residents, or $13/day resident / $16/day non-resident. Nightly campsite rates vary by electricity, amenities, location, site type, day of week and season, and are shown when you select a specific site during booking; non-resident campers pay a flat $15/night surcharge on top of the site's own rate. A $9.30 reservation fee applies per booking, plus a $10 cancellation fee or $6 change fee if plans change. Pets are allowed at this campground on a leash no longer than 8 feet at all times, per Wisconsin State Park System's statewide pet policy; owners must clean up and properly dispose of pet waste.
