About
Governor Thompson State Park sits on Caldron Falls Flowage in Marinette County, one of Wisconsin's newer state parks, with hiking trails through northern hardwood forest. The 100-site family campground spans east, north, and south loops (16 electric sites in the east loop) with a central shower building and dump station; three boat-in sites on the flowage's south shore add a backcountry option, available year-round.
Fees
Wisconsin DNR statewide camping system: a vehicle admission sticker is required at every state park or forest entrance, including for registered campers - $28/year for Wisconsin residents ($13/year age 65+) or $50/year for non-residents, or $13/day resident / $16/day non-resident. Nightly campsite rates vary by electricity, amenities, location, site type, day of week and season, and are shown when you select a specific site during booking; non-resident campers pay a flat $15/night surcharge on top of the site's own rate. A $9.30 reservation fee applies per booking, plus a $10 cancellation fee or $6 change fee if plans change. Pets are allowed at this campground on a leash no longer than 8 feet at all times, per Wisconsin State Park System's statewide pet policy; owners must clean up and properly dispose of pet waste.
