About

Little River State Park, in the Mount Mansfield State Forest near Waterbury Reservoir, sits on the site of a former hill farm with 19th-century cellar holes and cemeteries along its trails. Its main campground has 90 sites - 36 for tents or RVs, 34 tent-only, and 20 lean-tos - none with electric or water hookups; an RV sanitary dump station is available. 5 electric cabins are also on site but not counted in the total above. An additional 27 first-come, first-served remote campsites exist along the reservoir shoreline outside this park's own online booking system - see Waterbury Reservoir Remote Sites (a separate, online-bookable facility) for a different set of boat-in sites in the same area.

Fees

Vermont Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation statewide camping fee schedule (vtstateparks.com/fees.html), per night, shown as VT Resident / Non-Resident: Tent/RV sites $20/$38; Lean-to sites $30/$49 (Burton Island's lean-tos are a published exception at $40/$60); Group camping $6/$10 per person per night (8-person minimum). No separate rate is published for remote/boat-in sites - the standard Tent/RV or Lean-to rate above most likely applies, but this isn't stated explicitly. A $2/night surcharge applies at some "prime" sites; $8/person/night for additional occupants beyond 4 (8-person max per site); $3/pet/night; an $8/site non-refundable reservation fee; firewood $9/bundle; trash $6/bag. Pets are allowed at this campground on a leash (max 10 feet) or confined, for a $3/pet/night fee, per Vermont State Parks' statewide camping policy; pets must be vaccinated and kept from excessive barking.
