About
A traditional family park since 1936 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Douthat sits amid some of Virginia's most scenic mountain terrain. Four campgrounds ring the 50-acre stocked-trout lake, all with electric and water hookups, bathhouses, and dump stations, including a loop favored by equestrian campers; cabins and lodges are also on site, not counted in the total above. Beyond camping, guests fish for stocked trout, swim at the sandy beach, and hike more than 43 miles of trail.
