Camping John is a campground in Réserve faunique de Matane, run by Sépaq, Quebec's parks agency. It has 24 campsites: 14 semi-serviced (no hookups), 3 with water and electricity, 7 with full hookups (water, electricity and sewer).
Located at the western entrance of the wildlife reserve, about 10 minutes from a convenience store and a grocery shop with a gas station, and only 30 minutes from the activities and services of Matane or Amqui. Semi-serviced campsites as well as sites offering two or three services. Ideal for recreational vehicles, camp trailers, and motorhomes. Two services: water and electricity Three services: water, electricity, and sewage disposal.* Near waterways available for day fishing (brook trout and lake trout). Close to most of the easy and intermediate short hikes (in French only) of the International Appalachian Trail of Québec (IAT-QC), including two easy hikes from the campground. Swings, volleyball and badminton nets, as well as the loan of some outdoor recreational equipment at the registration centre. In fact, there is no sewage disposal station at Réserve faunique de Matane. You must go to Matane or Amqui.
