This is a medium-sized ,semi-open beach site on the west shore of Kootenay Lake. A trail above the camping area leads to a spectacular waterfall and moss-lined grotto on Fletcher Creek. The falls are most spectacular in the spring when visitors are washed by the cool mist off the falls. Fires allowed on south side of creek only. North side of the creek contains the day use site.
Boat-in access. Maintained to Recreation Sites and Trails BC standards by a partner or contractor. Facilities on file: toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, parking. First come, first served.
Getting there: From Kaslo, head south on Highway #31 for 6.0 km and turn left onto Fletcher Creek Frontage. From Ainsworth head north on highway #31 for 12.5 km, turn right onto the north end of Fletcher Creek Frontage. You will see parking lot signs for the site. Parallel parking only along the side of the road. A wide trail leads from the corner of Fletcher Creek Frontage and Hwy 31, through a gate and down the hill.
