About

This small site is located directly adjacent to the Pelican FSR and offers space for 2 camping parties as well as access to the lake via a steep trail. The basic amenities of tables, fire rings and a pit toilet are provided. The lake is best accessed via a float tube or very small boat, as the access down to the lake is quite steep. Adventurous anglers may be rewarded for their efforts, as the lake is well known as a high-quality rainbow trout fishery, especially for fly fishers. The lake is annually stocked with Pennask strain rainbow trout.

Road access. Maintained to Recreation Sites and Trails BC standards by a partner or contractor. Facilities on file: toilets, picnic tables, dock. First come, first served.

Getting there: *The Pelican FSR is currently closed at km 42 due to a bridge closure, no estimated time of reopening. Alternative access available via Blackwater to Batinuni to Pelican* Travel west of Prince George and turn left on to the Blackwater Rd - proceed 21kms and turn right on to the Pelican FSR. The site is located at 42km. Alternatively this site can be accessed from the Bobtail FSR, 35 minutes west of PG, turn off the hwy (left) and travel 20km, then turn left onto the Blackwater Road (travel 30km), this will connect you to the Pelican FSR at 35.5km.
