**The site will be closed and gated for the season September 15, 2026. The pier and dock is also gated and inaccessible in the off season.

A popular destination for anglers, kayakers and campers looking to explore the inlet and Nootka Sound. Located on Tlupana Inlet, this site is set amongst towering Red Cedar with plenty of forest and ocean appointed sites to choose form. Recent pier upgrades provide for easy access to the dock and fish cleaning station. Parking is available on a daily or weekly basis.

Reserved Parking $10/night,$40/week.

Road access. Maintained to Recreation Sites and Trails BC standards by a partner or contractor. Facilities on file: boat launch, toilets, picnic tables, dock, wheelchair-accessible toilet, fish cleaning station, fire rings.

Getting there: From Gold River, continue west across the bridge and turn left at the junction toward Tahsis. Turn right onto the Head Bay FSR. Turn left onto Tlupana Mainline (around the 37km marker). Green and white signs guide you to Cougar Creek. Continue on past the log sort and up the Galiano Mainline. The site is located on the right at the bottom of the hill after you pass the a viewpoint overlooking the inlet. It is 39.6 km from the highway junction in Gold River to the entrance to Cougar Creek Rec Site (approximately 50 minutes or longer if you're towing a boat or trailer).
