About

On the shore of the Northumberland Strait, Amherst Shore Provincial Park offers an attractive mixed woodland setting for camping. Walking on trails, swimming or beachcombing are enjoyable activities at the park. This park, like others along this coast, offers some of the warmest saltwater swimming north of the Carolinas. The park offers a 56-site campground (44 wooded; 5 partially wooded; 7 open), comfort station (showers and flush toilets), dishwashing station, group shelter, playground, hiking trails, and a walking trail leading to an unsupervised beach area. Serviced and Unserviced sites are offered. Water taps and vault toilets are conveniently located throughout the campground. Located on Route 366, the Sunrise Trail, 37 km (23 mi.) east of Amherst and 27 km (17 mi.) west of Pugwash.

56 campsites on the reservation service: 24 unserviced, 32 serviced (30-amp electric and water). 20 overflow sites are issued at the park once the campground is full.

Fees

Unserviced $26.50, serviced (30-amp electric and water) $35.30 CAD per night, taxes included, plus the $8.95 reservation fee
