About
Cheesequake State Park, near Matawan, spans several distinct ecosystems from salt marsh to Atlantic white cedar swamp and pine barrens, all within easy reach of the Raritan Bayshore. The campground has 50 tent and trailer sites and 4 group sites at the Gordon Field Group Area (up to 25 people each), none with hookups. There is an 11-foot vehicle height restriction entering the camping area. Flush toilets, showers, and an RV dump station are available. The campground is open April 1 through Oct. 31. Pet-friendly campsites are available for an extra $5 per pet per night; current rabies vaccination is required.
