Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is one of the largest camping destinations in the North Carolina state park system, spread across several distinct developed campgrounds around the reservoir near Apex, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro, and New Hill - Crosswinds, Parkers Creek, and Poplar Point campgrounds (a mix of electric and non-electric sites), Vista Point group camp, and New Hope Overlook's hike-in backpack sites. Pick your specific campground and loop when booking, since they're spread out around the lake. Showerhouses, bath houses, restrooms, and a dump station serve the developed campgrounds, along with boat ramps and swimming areas.
