About
The campground is adjacent to the Pickerel Lake public landing. The campsites are considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The 18 campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring and table. Vault toilets, garbage cans and drinking water are available.
Open year-round. Campground roads and sites are not plowed open in the winter.
Gafvert Campground is tucked along Pickerel Lake. The campground features a boat launch, nature trail and easy access to hunter walking, snowmobile, ATV, OHM and ORV trails in Nemadji State Forest.
18 primitive campsites. First come, first served for individual sites; pay the camping fee online on the day you arrive, or at a state park ranger station. Managed from Moose Lake State Park (218-460-7001). In Nemadji State Forest.
