About
The Pigeon River flows past this peaceful, rustic campground located within the Pigeon River Country State Forest. It provides excellent opportunities for trout anglers. The Shingle Mill Pathway trailhead is located across the road and offers access to hiking and mountain biking. Other hiking opportunities include High Country Pathway.
There are 10 sites for tent and small trailer use. The campground is located 10.5 miles east of Vanderbilt via Sturgeon Valley Road.
10 rustic campsites, $20 a night. Open all year; the road may not be plowed in winter. First come, first served; register at the campground kiosk on the day you arrive. Vault toilets and a hand-pump well for drinking water; no electricity or hookups. One camping unit and six people per site, 15 nights at most. Managed from Otsego Lake State Park (989-732-5485).
