About

Nestled along the Au Sable River at Mio Dam, this rustic campground offers a picturesque escape with excellent fishing and paddling. The campground is divided into two distinct areas, including:

Campground: 24 secluded, wooded campsites for tents and small trailers on the west side, providing privacy and a natural setting. This area is located at 44.663342, -84.145805.

Group camp: 10 paddle-in site in the group camping area on the east side. This area is located at 44.661934, -84.136153.

The campground is located 2 miles northwest of Mio via Morenci Avenue, Pond Drive and South Gerber Road.

24 rustic campsites, $20 a night. Closed December 1 to April 15. First come, first served; register at the campground kiosk on the day you arrive. Vault toilets and a hand-pump well for drinking water; no electricity or hookups. One camping unit and six people per site, 15 nights at most. Managed from Rifle River Recreation Area (989-473-2258).
