About
Located on the south end of Lake of the Prairies, Asessippi Provincial Park provides excellent angling adventures, and boasts some of the best walleye fishing that the province has to offer. The campground offers both electrical and basic camping opportunities, and yurts. The campground is equipped with modern washrooms, showers, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, baseball diamond, boat launch, dump station, hiking trails, beach, dog beach, and nearby snack bar. Angling Licenses are available for purchase at the Campground Office. The local concessionaire provides food, snacks, ice cream, basic supplies, laundromat, miniature golf, bait and tackle services, and firewood for purchase.
Elsewhere in the park: baseball, biking, boat launch, boating (on lake of the Prairies), canoeing, convenience store, fishing (license required), mini golf, hiking (self guided trail), horseshoe, laundry, picnic areas, picnic shelter, restaurant, and swimming (unsupervised beach).
In the campground: dump station, kiosk (information at campground office), modern washrooms, pit privies, playground, shower, and water taps.
Includes 20 sites leased for the whole season.
60 overflow sites are issued at the campground office once the campground is full.
6 yurts can be booked here as well.
Directions: Leaving Winnipeg: follow Highway 1 west to Virden to P.T.H. 83, then turn on P.R. 482 to Asessippi; or from Winnipeg: travel west on Highway 1 to Highway 16 to Russell and then take P.T.H. 83 to P.R. 482 to Asessippi; or from Saskatchewan-Yorkton Highway 10, turn on to P.R. 482 to Asessippi.
