US Forest Service campground. Lower Paintrock Lake Campground is located in a remote setting on Lower Paint Rock Lake. Nearby trailheads offer access to the Cloud Peak Wilderness. Open season: June - Labor Day (weather dependent). Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
