US Forest Service campground. The Power Plant Campground is near Atlanta, Idaho. A trailhead offers access to the Sawtooth Wilderness, heading northeast into a lake-filled basin. The historic mining town of Atlanta is just south of the campground. Good fishing in the river for rainbow trout and whitefish. Pack out what you pack in. Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
