About

US Forest Service campground. The Ethan Pond Shelter is located at the eastern shore of the scenic Ethan Pond at the edge of the Pemigewasset Wilderness. The Shelter can be accessed via a short side trail off the Ethan Pond Trail (Appalachain Trail). It is an 'Adirondack' style shelter with an occupancy of eight. There are also 5 tent platforms with a total capacity of 20. Water is supplied at the inlet brook. A composting privy, a dishwashing area, and bear box is provided. A caretaker is in charge during the summer months. Pack out what you pack in. Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
