US Forest Service campground. The campground is located on the ridge above Chevelon Canyon Lake in a mixture of ponderosa pine, juniper and pinyon pine. Chevelon Canyon Lake offers spectacular views and opportunities for hiking and fishing. NO TRASH SERVICE AVAILABLE. This is a Pack-it-in / Pack-it-out area. Take your trash with you when you leave. Open season: January - December. Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
