About
US Forest Service campground. The Chris Park Group Campground, one mile south of Haviland Lake on Forest Rd. 166, has three group campsites. Two group sites accommodate 75 campers each. A third group site accommodates up to 150 people, has a pavilion, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, electricity and RV access. The park is mostly flat and open, partly shaded by a few large ponderosa pines. Services at all three group sites include water, trash pickup, campfire rings, picnic tables, electrical hookups and restrooms. Open season: Late May . Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
