About
US Forest Service campground. Campground is adjacent to the Eel River Work Center. There are 15 sites and two pull-throughs to accomodate larger trailers up to 24 feet. Setting is among large oak trees, shrubs and some poison oak. Vault toilets and water are available for campers. A steep path provides access to the river. After heavy snowmelt, expect the river to have strong currents, cold water, and sudden water level changes. Life vests recommended. Pack out what you pack in. Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
