About

US Forest Service campground. Sulphide Del Rey was once a site of an old mining company. The miners lived here to escape the heat of the lower elevations where they worked during the day. This site offers an exciting place to camp with the family because of the ponderosa pine and abundance in wildlife. Pack out what you pack in. Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
