About

US Forest Service campground. Surrounded by high peaks, this small campground of 3 sites at 9500 feet overlooks the 15-acre Cabresto Lake from a level ridge at the head of a 4 mile trail to Heart Lake. One of the few places in NM for catching brook trout. Pack out what you pack in. Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
